What does this Science and Engineering opportunity offer you?
Joining EDF's Science and Engineering Industrial Placements means becoming key support for our Engineering team. You'll be working with engineers across all disciplines to deliver engineering solutions for plant risks, underpinning safe, reliable generation into the future.
You’ll be based on site at Hartlepool Power Station, where you’ll work alongside colleagues focusing on engineering solutions. You'll have the chance to learn through hands-on experience under the guidance of highly skilled and experienced colleagues.

Training, development and support for you:
Over this 12-month programme, most of what you learn will be on the job, with support from your mentor and the teams you work in. You’ll have the opportunity to apply your academic training to genuine challenges faced in the energy industry and complete modules that contribute to your degree.
Previous students on a Science and Engineering Industrial Placement have been involved in projects such as:
* Installing liquid level monitoring to ensure essential safety functions are maintained.
* Inspecting and assessing plant and component condition, determining remediation, repair, and replacement strategies based on multiple factors.
* Assisting in running, maintaining, and developing the condition monitoring programme throughout a plant.
* Supporting improvements to safety through communications campaigns, training, and other improvement projects.
Who you are
We are looking for candidates who are on track to achieve, or have already achieved, a 2:2 undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering. You should possess solid technical and analytical skills, along with a genuine desire to learn and develop new capabilities. A questioning attitude, good teamwork, and effective communication skills are essential qualities we seek.
