Outreach Worker – YOU MUST BE ABLE TO DRIVE
Location: Crewe
Prospero are looking for an enthusiastic and flexible Outreach Worker/Mentor to work in a Special Needs School based in Crewe, Manchester, within their Outreach/Attendance Team.
Your role will involve supporting and mentoring at-risk and high-need students at the school. The students will have a range of additional needs, as well as issues with engagement and attendance. You will work 1:1 with individuals or manage a small number of students that you are responsible for. All students are on a reduced timetable and have a tailored education plan that you will support.
You should have experience working with KS3 and/or KS4 pupils and their families, focusing on encouraging young people and their families to engage with school, including attendance and issues outside of school.
You must demonstrate skills in relating to young people who have social, emotional, and mental health difficulties.
You will need to communicate effectively with parents and manage pupils in a calm but firm manner, both in school and off-site, ensuring that every student makes progress in line with their ability.
Ideally, you will have substantial experience working with pupils who exhibit challenging behaviors and possess knowledge of the risks associated with illegal substances.
Requirements:
1. Must have own transport and be willing to transport pupils to and from school and other educational establishments.
2. Must have business use for their own vehicle.
