Role Overview
The role of the Technical Sales Engineer - Geomembrane Containment Tanks will involve:
1. Field sales position, providing the design, supply and installation of liquid containment geomembrane and containment tank solutions.
2. Currently selling into the construction industry 90% of the time (typically contamination and gas protection projects) and 10% water authorities (drinking/ wastewater industry).
3. Initially a few days a week in our clients' East Scotland office for comprehensive product training, then once established 3-4 days on the road visiting 2-3 customers per day, rest of the time in the office.
4. Initially spending the majority of your time winning specification projects with architects and consulting engineers as well as groundwork contractors and civil engineers.
5. Growth area is within water authorities, typically managing relationships with main contractors.
6. Focus of the role will be to develop new projects, typically from £10,000-£60,000 but can be £250,000+.
7. Targeted to achieve £500,000 of new business development.
Ideal Applicant
The ideal applicant will have:
1. Ideally 2 years construction industry field sales experience.
2. Sold into associated civil engineering, groundwork, general construction and main & sub contractor customers.
3. Specification field sales experience with architects and consulting engineers is not required.
4. Most technical, civil and structural specification sales backgrounds will be considered.
5. Understanding of construction processes.
6. Strong water authority field sales experience as this is a growth area.
7. Knowledge of geomembrane/ tank supply is not essential as full product training will be provided.
8. Associated field sales experience such as structural waterproofing, damp proofing, gas protection, groundworks and other associated civil engineering backgrounds all of interest.
9. Motivated, conscientious, pro-active and organised approach.
10. Experience selling products that go into the ground.
