The Role
Thames Primary Academy and Nursery
Let your Potential Soar!
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, dedicated and motivated Teaching Assistant to support in various classrooms across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a successful primary academy within the ATC (Achievement Through Collaboration) Multi Academy Trust.
We are extremely proud of our school; the achievements of our children, the expertise and dedication of our staff, the support of our parents, our outstanding facilities and our reputation as a centre of excellence.
The school and nursery classrooms and the outdoor play areas have been modernised and refurbished to an exceptional standard over recent years and we are very proud to be able to offer our children a truly exceptional learning environment which is bright, stimulating and state of the art in terms of technology, innovation and comfort.
A building, however, is only as good as the people working within. Staff and pupils benefit from the investment we place on their development: as well as playing a key part in supporting other schools across the ATC Achievement through Collaboration Trust.
Our Ethos
At Thames we have children firmly at the heart of all that we do.
Our academy is a place where children flourish and grow because they:
* have a strong sense of belonging
* feel safe and secure and are nurtured and supported
* follow our positive behaviour aspirations of being ready, responsible and respectful
* are motivated and praised for both their effort and achievement
* can make mistakes and see them as learning opportunities
* have access to an aspirational curriculum that is tailored to meet their need
* are challenged to work hard, be determined and have a positive attitude
* are motivated to be ambitious and to strive for personal excellence
Our Aims
* We offer a curriculum which is broad in content, rich in possibilities, instils a love for learning and a strong grounding in mastering the basics for future success.
* We offer children a high quality and inclusive environment, by holding the highest expectations of all our pupils and knowing our children well.
* We promote an ethos of respect and empathy, where diversity is valued and celebrated both within the school and in the wider world.
* We build strong relationships with children, parents and carers based on trust and mutual respect.
* We celebrate perseverance, resilience and risk-taking, ensuring children welcome challenges and are not frightened to make mistakes.
* We strive for all children to leave Thames as independent learners with self-belief and an abiding respect for others.
* We are driven to ensure our academy is a place where successful learners, responsible citizens and confident individuals are ready for their next step in education and their future lives.
We are looking for a teaching assistant who:
* Has experience of working with EYFS/KS1 and/or KS2 pupils.
* Puts the children first, is fully committed to inclusion and continually strives for high standards from themselves and others.
* Will dedicate time to build and develop positive relationships with pupils, families and the wider community.
* Is a creative thinker who makes learning meaningful for all children and particularly those with a variety of barriers to their learning.
* Is a strong, resilient team player with high levels of emotional intelligence, positivity, and a good sense of humour.
* Is a reflective practitioner who is keen to improve their practice recognising that, as adults, we are continuously learning.
What we can offer you:
* A commitment to promoting staff well being by providing certainty, fairness and consistency in the treatment of all employees.
* A supportive staff team and access to instructional coaching to support you in further developing your role.
* A broad range of internal and external CPD opportunities, including leadership pathways and NPQ qualifications.
