Job Title: Senior Systems Engineer / Team Lead (Plan Assist & Monitor - Estimating Functions)

Salary: GBP47,683 + depending on experience
What you'll be doing:
1. Understanding and capturing device and system control requirements
2. Develop Functional Architecture and interface definition
3. Produce control model concepts, then detailed design models and test harnesses
4. Verify and Validate textual requirements in preparation for delivery
5. Documenting the design
6. Contributing to safety analysis of the products
7. Maintain consistent communication across the AVC 'One Team' construct
8. Develop and harmonise processes in line with Maritime and Air Sector policies
9. Capture Learning From Experience (LFE)
10. Leading or coaching other team members in the above
11. Managing the team tasking
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
1. Demonstrable knowledge of the system engineering lifecycle with ability to apply good systems engineering practices to your work
2. Considerable experience in Mechanical, Actuation, Control or Fluid Systems Engineering, preferably in a marine or aerospace application, or in a similar engineering or technology focussed industry
3. Competence in Mathworks tools to apply Model-based systems engineering principles, tools and techniques (primarily Simulink and its Test)
4. Capable in Microsoft Office packages and an ability to develop competence with more specialist toolsets as necessary
5. Ability to effectively research system design data and apply to complex problems
6. Requirements maturation Experience within the systems engineering lifecycle
Desirable:
1. Demonstrable experience of any the following:
2. Modelling and simulation of both classical and advanced control systems
3. System testing and qualification processes
4. Safety engineering and its application to system design and assurance
5. A background in developing products within the broader systems engineering lifecycle
6. Knowledge and experience of other system modelling and simulation toolsets; including other Mathworks tools, DOORs, SCADE, SySML
7. Engineering Project Management including AGILE working awareness
