Job summary Be responsible for assessing issues on admission to and discharge from hospital, at outpatient appointments, and at annual review, including airway clearance, inhaled therapy, musculoskeletal (MSK) issues, exercise, urinary incontinence, and non-invasive ventilation, where necessary. Be a resource on physiotherapy assessments, treatments, and interventions, for the training, education, development, and support of others involved in CF care within network. In conjunction with other Therapy Band 7's and service lead staff, the role will support the delivery of operational management across The Children's Therapy Service. To participate in the out of hours respiratory Physiotherapy on-call rota for Oxford Children's Hospital. Actively contribute to the strategic aims of the Children's Therapies and Gait clinical service unit. Main duties of the job 1. To be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of own professional activities. 2. To be responsible and accountable for the management and implementation of patient care programmes in the Paediatric Cystic Fibrosis physiotherapy setting and to input into Trust wide care programmes as appropriate. 3. To carry out assessment of patients as an autonomous practitioner, including those with highly complex presentations and to use clinical reasoning skills, knowledge of evidence based practice and advanced Paediatric Cystic Fibrosis expertise to determine appropriate care plans utilising specialist treatment skills and options. 4. To formulate accurate prognoses and recommend best course of intervention, developing comprehensive treatment / discharge plans. 5. To be responsible for patient care plans and to be consulted frequently for expert advice and guidance by junior and senior team members and other health care professionals both within and outside the Trust.
