About the Role:
As the Operational & Strategic Neurodiversity & Complex Emotional Needs Lead, you will play a pivotal role in the development and delivery of services for individuals with neurodiverse conditions (e.g., autism, ADHD) and those with complex emotional needs. Your leadership will be key in ensuring a high standard of care, promoting inclusive practices, and driving strategic initiatives across the Trust.
You will be responsible for overseeing and improving operational processes, ensuring that services are responsive, effective, and aligned with national and local policy frameworks. Additionally, you will contribute to shaping strategic direction and providing expert guidance on best practices, policies, and interventions for people with neurodiverse conditions and complex emotional needs.
Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and develop operational and strategic initiatives for neurodiversity and complex emotional needs across the Trust.
* Provide expert advice, guidance, and leadership to multidisciplinary teams and service managers.
* Ensure service provision meets the needs of individuals with neurodiversity and complex emotional needs, ensuring high-quality, person-centred care.
* Develop, implement, and evaluate policies, training, and educational materials on neurodiversity and emotional wellbeing.
* Champion inclusive and accessible practices within the Trust, fostering an environment that is welcoming for all.
* Build strong relationships with stakeholders, including service users, carers, and external agencies.
* Lead continuous service improvements, with a focus on outcomes, efficiency, and user satisfaction.
* Monitor and analyse service performance, ensuring that all regulatory standards are met.
* Provide leadership and support to staff, ensuring training and development opportunities are accessible to enhance expertise in neurodiversity and complex emotional needs.

Experience
Essential
* Extensive mental health sector experience at senior management level with accountability for all operational matters, including establishing and maintaining compassionate leadership, financial balance, fulfilling KPIs and improving outcomes for patients.
* Highly developed specialist knowledge underpinned by rigorous theory.
* Team selection, leadership, management and motivation.
* Proven experience of programme management and continuous improvement.
* Experience of applying exceptional change management ability in complex systems with multiple agencies.
Desirable
* Experience of working across organisational boundaries.
* Knowledge of modernisation tools and techniques.
* Evidence of providing strategic leadership and direction for clinical staff, taking into account national and local economic, political and demographic factors.
Qualifications
Essential
* Registered Professional (Nursing, Social Work, Occupational Therapy / AHP, Psychology) with relevant registration.
* Evidence of continuing professional development.
* Management qualification or equivalent experience.
* Educated to Masters level in a relevant area of professional, academic or management practice.
