Job Description:
We are looking for a Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join the Devon Adult Autism and ADHD service (DAANA), to work in the Autism Pathway.
This is an innovative area of practice and the work is rewarding and interesting. You do not need to be an autism specialist. We are looking for someone with experience of working with clients with a range of mental health difficulties and autistic people. If you bring passion and commitment, we will train and support you to gain the specialist skills and experience you need, making this an exciting professional development opportunity.
We are proud of our service and the high-quality diagnostic assessments, workshops, consultation, and training that we deliver. We are committed to developing new and innovative ways of engaging and helping autistic people. Our guiding principle is to improve the lives of autistic people, so we often get involved in innovative ideas to support this client group. We are a friendly, thoughtful, and caring team. We value our ability to work collaboratively and we are committed to promoting and maintaining staff wellbeing.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will contribute to the various different aspects of clinical work carried out by the DAANA service, drawing upon the particular skills that they have developed from their professional training and clinical experience.
Assessment is a core part of the team's work and therefore this role, so the post-holder should have experience carrying out assessments with people who have significant communication needs and a range of different mental health difficulties. The service also carries out group-based work, consultation, and training to other professionals.
The post holder will work as a senior member of the team and liaise with a wide range of both statutory and non-statutory agencies.
