Our fire team is looking for an innovative and strategic thinker who can help shape our business to deliver superior building performance in terms of fire safety design and management. A leader who can deliver expertise and is prepared to develop our existing client relationships and create new ones – to develop a Centre of Excellence (CoE) in London. Some example duties and responsibilities: Delivering significant fire engineering projects nationally and internationally Hiring team members as necessary (alongside UK Fire Engineering Lead) Leading and mentoring other members of the team Developing and owning client relationships Raising and owning the London fire team’s profile internally and externally Leading bid work and allocating work to grow the team’s multi-sector experience You will be responsible for developing and owning a Fire Safety CoE in London encompassing all aspects of project management from assisting with preparation of quotations, through to management of the delivery of the technical expertise, analyses and reports, drawings, specifications and documentation as necessary. This role will be based on a Hybrid basis from our office in London Bridge Full time employment with Jacobs is 40 hours per week Here's what you'll need A Masters or Ph.D in Fire Engineering or equivalent and proven experience Ideally be a Chartered or Incorporated Fire Engineer through the IFE Considerable experience working on large, complex projects requiring fire engineering solutions across The UK, Ireland and the Middle-East Experience of leading project teams & good negotiation and mentoring skills Strong technical knowledge with a corresponding track record of gaining agreement for prescriptive and performance based design solutions from approving authorities and other key stakeholders - quality work delivered to time and on budget consistently Organisation, team leadership and execution of site inspections, audits and fire risk assessments preferred, with a good working knowledge of UK, ROI, NFPA, IBC / IFC Codes.
