Then look no further What the role has to offer: Development Opportunity Job Satisfaction - involvement in testing of products, fault diagnosis to customer delivery and repair/servicing Large support network within the function Diverse and challenging role Our Opportunity You will be working within the large operations/service center team within the Thales Aerospace Division to test and fault diagnosis on deliverable Customer and System sub-assemblies to component level. Survey, repair and upgrade customer equipment as directed by Test Team Leader/CAM/Project Management as appropriate. Provide technical support to Project and Engineering Teams and contribute to the development and evaluation of innovative approaches or solutions to ongoing issues or problems. As part of the role you will utilise and adopt techniques, including but not limited to the following, Write, create and verify PTS(Product Test Schedule) documents derived from PAS (Product Acceptance Specification). Test and diagnose complex faults on deliverable customer sub-assemblies and System LRUs to ensure compliance with specification. Survey, repair and upgrade customer equipment to Thales standards. Calibration and maintenance of required STTE(Special To Type Equipment) Ordering and returning of test equipment as required Produce estimate for completion of work Support System test activities to ensure System requirements and delivery dates are met to agreed quality and costs. Support activities of Test Technicians to ensure test requirements are understood and achieved. Ensure that all documentation is compliant to Thales standards. Travel and off-site working may be required with this role. About You You will need to be self-driven and have attention to detail as well as having the following: Must have RF Test Experience using Network Analysers, Spectrum Analysers and Signal Generators Minimum of an ONC or equivalent degree or equivalent demonstrable experience in a test environment preferably within Defence/Aerospace/Engineering. Good fault diagnostic skills to component level Wiring, repair and soldering skills Knowledge of a variety of test disciplines required within the test department Show initiative and possess good communication skills, both written and verbal Intermediate IT skills in Microsoft Office packages Possess or eligible to obtain SC level security clearance Desirable: HNC/HND or BTEC equivalent (Engineering background) desirable. Certification to IPC-610 and IPC-620 desirable Due to the nature of the work that we do at Thales, many of our roles are subject to security restrictions. This role requires you to be a UK National and achieve Security Clearance (SC) without any caveats. It would be advantageous if currently held, however, if not currently held, it is a requirement that the successful applicant undergo, achieve, and maintain SC Clearance prior to commencing employment.
