Alexander Steele has partnered with a leading consumer goods business that has an exciting opportunity for a Head of Buying to lead a team of sourcing and procurement professionals to strategic outcomes and savings delivery.

Key responsibilities include:
1. Development, implementation, and communication of global sourcing strategies to ensure a standard approach across all categories.
2. Establish and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers, conducting negotiations to secure advantageous terms and ensure the continuity of supply.
3. Ensure that commercial, yet profitable product ranges are developed and bought, to maximise profit and sales.
4. Liaise with Stores, Marketing, and eCommerce teams to develop and maintain professional working relationships, ensuring that sales are maximised in line with the overall strategy.
5. Monitor global market trends, identifying impacts on supply and demand, and adjusting strategies to leverage market conditions.
Candidate requirements:
1. A degree or similar tertiary qualification in Fashion, Procurement, Business Management or equivalent.
2. Demonstrated Buying, Sourcing, Product Range and Category management experience within a consumer goods environment.
3. Experience sourcing and buying products from the Far East.
4. People leadership skills and the ability to mentor and coach a dynamic team.
5. Project management experience, liaising with innovation and product development teams.
6. Good communication skills and the ability to present ideas to a broad range of stakeholders.
