The Vacancy:
We are recruiting for an additional Training Officer to join our team in Whitstable for maternity cover. The successful applicant will be responsible for taking a strategic approach to training, assessing the skills and knowledge within the business and determining what training is needed to grow and retain these skills, either designing and delivering the training directly or arranging for third-party trainers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Further develop our apprenticeship programme across the business, including full-time apprentices as well as upskilling existing employees. Provide the link between the training provider and the business to ensure the effectiveness of the programme.
2. Manage the recruitment of new apprentices.
3. Expand our internship roles across the business, supporting universities and opportunities within the business.
4. Work as the liaison between schools and colleges to ensure work experience students are managed effectively, careers events are well supported, and students gain a positive image of Amphenol Ltd.
5. Identify training and development needs within our business. Design and manage training and development programmes based on the needs of the business and the individual.
6. Plan and assess the 'return on investment' of any training or development programme, considering the costs of planned programmes and keeping within budgets.
7. Develop effective induction programmes for new employees.
8. Devise individual learning plans where needed.
9. Amend and revise programmes as necessary, adapting to changes occurring in the work environment and industry developments.
10. Promote a work culture of continuing professional development (CPD).
11. Manage the training budget and monitor monthly expenditure.
12. Carry out other duties that may be reasonably requested.
