Global Category Lead – Enterprise Technology Sourcing
Dynamic and proactive, Global Procurement delivers tangible commercial value for HSBC. A varied remit spans all aspects of the procurement lifecycle worldwide - from leading relationships with suppliers, to ensuring alignment across spending plans. Highly engaged with the business, Procurement specialists develop deep strategic understanding. This leads to stronger approaches to measuring success, and ultimately ensures the Group operates ever more effectively.
In this strategic role, you will be accountable for strategy and planning for the Enterprise Technology and the International Wealth and Personal Banking (IWPB) categories, to deliver competitive advantage for HSBC. This involves approximately $1.5B in yearly spend. Value is delivered through lifecycle product/service management, demand management (in collaboration with the Cost and Contracts Management organization), and innovative commercial and service models. You will leverage best practices, processes, and tools to optimize outcomes at local, regional, and global levels.
You will maintain external market knowledge and apply commercial best practices within your category. You will support the Head of Technology Sourcing in embedding best-in-class practices and innovation. Managing key strategic supplier relationships with the HSBC Accountable Executive, you will ensure alignment with provided frameworks.
You will lead a virtual team of SMEs across Category Management, Cost and Contracts Management, Technology stakeholders, legal, and local sourcing teams.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Collaborating with the Head of Technology Sourcing, other Category Leads, and the Head of Cost and Contracts Management to deliver initiatives and ensure team skills and experience are aligned.
2. Maximizing value across SOURCE TO CONTRACT activities across geographies, business units, and functions.
3. Embedding robust governance within SOURCE TO CONTRACT practices suitable for HSBC.
4. Managing and motivating the Category teams, ensuring ongoing development and learning.
5. Supporting Business Relationship Managers and Sourcing Network teams in executing Category plans and achieving benefits.
6. Applying advanced analysis and commercial models, focusing on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and value creation.
7. Managing strategic supplier relationships, conducting reviews, performance management, and developing joint account plans based on SRM frameworks.
8. Monitoring compliance with buying channels and driving corrective actions as needed.
