Role Overview:
The Lead SHEQ Coordinator will champion Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental standards across the Stublach Site. This role supports the UK SHEQ Manager in delivering continuous improvement in SHEQ performance, facilitating SHEQ management systems, monitoring SHEQ audits, initiatives, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Monitor and administer SHEQ reporting systems, including proactive observations, managers' site visit reports, housekeeping inspections, and action management.
2. Attend plant coordination meetings and ensure adequate communication regarding SHEQ between Operations and Projects teams.
3. Complete supplier/sub-contractor prequalification evaluations for SHEQ.
4. Oversee SHEQ event reporting (preventive and reactive) for the site, ensuring all events are entered into the SHEQ digital management system.
5. Conduct triage of all event/incident reporting and facilitate SHEQ event investigation, root cause analysis, and close out associated improvement actions.
6. Compile and monitor weekly and monthly SHEQ statistics for group reporting.
7. Develop and issue general and themed SHEQ communications across the business.
8. Support the UK SHEQ Manager with Internal Management System (IMS) application, including SHEQ procedure updates and reviews.
9. Ensure documentation (processes, procedures, forms) are maintained in line with internal best practices and external standards (ISO 9001, 45001, 14001).
10. Monitor third-party legislative updates and maintain aspects and impacts registers.
11. Contribute to the organization of safety days, initiatives, promoting 'One Safety,' and 'Safety Essentials' programs.
Knowledge and Skills:
1. Up-to-date knowledge of relevant UK SHE legislation, standards, and practices (COMAH, MHASWA, PSSR, PUWER, LOLER, COSHH, etc.).
2. Ability to apply rules and safety procedures when conducting activities and reviews.
3. Training development and delivery ability in relevant quality, safety, occupational health, and environmental topics.
4. Ability to conduct incident investigations and identify underlying root causes (trained in Taproot, 5 Whys, or similar methodology).
5. Demonstrate high standards in SHEQ performance and behaviours on site.
Qualifications & Experience:
1. 3+ years' experience in a lead SHEQ functional role (COMAH Site experience preferred).
2. Experience in completing system-level audits.
3. Familiarity with ISO Management standards (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001) and experience in implementation.
4. NEBOSH Diploma in Health and Safety (or working towards) or equivalent level of SHE qualification.
5. Environmental Awareness.
6. Internal Auditor Qualification.
