Role: Assistant Accountant
Location: Great Suffolk Street, London, SE1 0BE.
Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time, Hybrid - minimum of 3 days in the office per week (Monday - Friday)
Role Overview:
We are actively seeking an Assistant Accountant to support our Finance team in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with relevant policies, and assisting with various accounting tasks. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, have strong analytical skills, and be enthusiastic about learning and growing within the accounting field.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Assistant Accountant will be responsible for a variety of critical financial and accounting tasks that help ensure the smooth operation of daily financial activities and accurate financial reporting.
What you'll be doing:
Responsibilities
* Assist in daily receipt processing.
* Conduct daily multi-currency bank reconciliations.
* Post and reconcile credit card transactions.
* Handle merchant queries and manage chargebacks.
* Reconcile flight accounts regularly.
* Generate weekly DERTOUR reports.
* Keep the daily and weekly sales dashboard updated.
* Perform weekly and monthly cashflow updates.
* Update IFRS 16 contract data.
* Report on group prepayments.
* Aid in end-of-month procedures.
* Perform intercompany reconciliations.
* Post month-end revenue and reconcile commissions.
* Reconcile month-end deferred income.
* Conduct balance sheet reconciliations.
* Assist with the review of Profit & Loss statements.
* Manage the PLEO expense system and related reporting.
* Manage payables and receivables with Exclusive Resorts, our US partner.
* Assist with preparation and submission of CAA and ABTA returns.
* Support and respond to various audit queries during year-end audits.
You will have:
Essential:
* Proven experience in accounting or a similar role.
* Strong Excel skills.
* Strong numerical and analytical skills.
Desirable:
* Proficiency with Microsoft Accounting Systems (AX Dynamics 365).

* Attention to detail and excellent organizational abilities.
* Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.
* Eagerness to learn and develop within the accounting field.
