The Titanic Hotel Liverpool is all about the restoration of one of our citys most historic and iconic buildings. As a World Heritage site, it forms part of the Stanley Dock Village development overlooking the waters of Stanley Dock. The hotel is a hotel of unequalled proportion of size, service and style.
We are currently looking for a Switchboard Operator
At the Titanic Hotel, Liverpool our Switchboard Operator willconsistently provide an efficient, professional, friendly and helpful telephone service to resident guests, visitors to the Hotel, employees and external callers.
Main Duties:
* Toanswer external and internal calls clearly and professionally to the hotels standards in accordance with our Standard Operating Procedures and to connect to the relevant parties
* The Telephone Operator will positively respond to requests and enquiries from guests or employees and to provide information on hotel products and services
* The Switchboard Operator will promote the Hotel's facilities as appropriate
* To take messages for guests on behalf of callers or ensure callers can leave a voice message for the guest
* To accurately take and record wake-up call requests and to ensure that the call is recorded correctly for the correct time
* To deliver wake up calls to guests at the designated time and in accordance with standards
* To assist with the management of the general enquirys emails.
* To support with making reservations for bedrooms, spa and restaurant.
* Supporting reception with administration tasks, as requested by Rooms Division Operations Manager.
Requirements:
* Preferably educated to GCSE standard or equivalent
* Basic keyboard skills are required along with computer knowledge with is also essential
* Experience in a similar position would be an advantage
* A good command of both written and spoken English is essential and additional languages such as French, German, Italian, Spanish and Japanese would be an advantage
* An articulate, pleasant voice and excellent telephone manner are essential, as is the ability to effectively communicate with guests and employees at all levels
* Guest contact skills are essential and the ability to deal with pressure and difficult situations calmly and politely
* Appearance and attitude, behaviour and work is consistent with the image of The Titanic Hotel, Liverpool
* A responsible, conscientious and positive attitude is essential
* Approximately 80% of this person's time will be spent taking calls, queries, messages and wake up requests over the telephone and 20% on administration including completion of wake up sheets and charge notes
* A consistent, composed and controlled approach towards the volume of calls should be maintained
* There is a need for accuracy in all aspects of work
* Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.
