A highly reputable, independent SEN secondary school located in the Towcester/Silverstone area is seeking a dedicated SEN Support Officer to join its permanent team starting in January 2025 or sooner. Position: SEN Support Officer
Salary: £24,420 - £28,060 per annum (dependent on relevant qualifications and experience)
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Start Date: January 2025 or sooner
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide tailored support to students with a range of special educational needs, ensuring their individual learning and emotional needs are met.
* Assist in the planning and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with teachers and specialists.
* Offer 1:1 and group support to students, helping them to engage fully in the curriculum.
* Support the monitoring and assessment of student progress, keeping accurate records of their development and well-being.
* Collaborate with parents, carers, and external agencies to promote the best outcomes for students.
* Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive school environment that encourages personal growth and academic achievement.
* Contribute to the wider school community through involvement in extracurricular activities and pastoral care.
Requirements:
* Experience working with students who have special educational needs (SEN), ideally within a secondary school environment.
* Relevant qualifications in SEN support, teaching assistance, or related fields (such as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent).
* A compassionate and patient approach, with the ability to build trusting relationships with students, staff, and parents.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* A proactive and flexible attitude, with excellent organisational skills.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
* A valid Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one prior to appointment).
