NHS Supply Chain currently has an opportunity for a Data Steward to join our team during an exciting period of transformation, working to make it easier for the NHS to put patients first.
We are seeking a strategic and experienced Data Steward who will work with a wide range of stakeholders to mature all aspects of data management across the organisation in line with the data strategy. They will focus initially on critical data quality improvement, master data management process automation and supporting delivery of the Data Governance framework.
Every day you will …
Analyse data quality, integrity, context, and classification across various systems, using and advocating a mature range of tools, approaches, and standards.
Define complex data management processes, demonstrating a focus on quality, automation, standardisation, and collaboration.
Identify data management transformation opportunities, analyse complex data management problems, and define value-based requirements improving and monitoring maturity.
Provide data stewardship advice and governance across NHS Supply Chain, to ensure quality, consistency and efficiency, and delivery of the Data Strategy.

What skills will help you thrive in this role?
Extensive stewardship experience managing master data, reference data, data quality, metadata, and the provision of curated data for analytics
Experience in data quality analysis, mapping, and monitoring experience using a variety of tools and techniques, including SQL
Contextual data definition skills and a good understanding of logical data modeling
Proven problem-solving and process improvement skills and ability to define creative solutions to meet business needs in complex situations
Regulatory data compliance awareness
Previous experience of providing data management governance and mentoring
Strong business focus with demonstrated ability to form effective working relationships, be resourceful, and resolve conflicts
