Duration: Permanent
Location: This is a part-time opportunity working 2 or 3 days a week from 08:30 to 16:30 at Crewe Mannin House. You will be working on-site along with an Occupational Health Nurse Advisor and a Medical Coordinator.
Band & Salary: Band 6 28,860 - 31,980 pro-rata (Subject to experience)

About the team:This is an exciting time to join our team of Occupational Health professionals as we move to an in-house service model delivered throughout our 22 Occupational Health locations nationwide. The health, safety & wellbeing of our colleagues is of paramount importance to us, delivering a high-quality occupational health service, and proactively managing our peoples immediate and long-term health and wellbeing risks.
Who are we looking for?We're looking for people who are customer-focused, highly motivated, and committed to delivering our new In-House Occupational Health for our 46,000 colleagues, for both clinical and operational roles. We're creating a railway Fit for the Future so we need a workforce Fit for the future and you can play a key part in creating a sustainable service for the future.
What does the average day look like?As an OH Technician, you will be based in one of our OH centres and be part of a team providing an outstanding occupational health service for Network Rail line managers and employees. You will be providing quality health monitoring services and in doing so you will help Network Rail to prevent, manage and reduce work-related ill-health to support our people in work sustainably and safely.
Ideally, you will have experience in undertaking audiometry, spirometry, HAVs Tier 1 health assessments, blood pressure and conducting drug and alcohol testing within the chain of custody framework.
You will also be responsible for managing employee OH records and updating them in line with legislative requirements so being organised, with a keen eye for detail would be ideal for this role.
Essential Criteria
* Experience as an Occupational Health Technician for at least over 1 year, a Health care assistant (HCA) with an interest in screening or a medic with a few years experience and with willingness to develop clinical skills relevant to the role.
* Good interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently.
* Good IT skills.
* Understanding of confidentiality and GDPR compliance.
Desirable Criteria
* Knowledge of occupational health and risk assessment processes.
* Certificated training in health surveillance and assessments (e.g., audiometry, spirometry).
* Safety critical or rail industry experience.
* Data analysis.
