We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Building Information Modelling (BIM) Manager. In collaboration with the Soft Landings Manager, you will help define a strategic roadmap for Asset Management activities, ensuring seamless end-to-end processes across the lifecycle of facility assets. A deep understanding of BIM standards, including the UK BIM Framework and ISO 19650, is critical. The role will involve preparing and implementing BIM Execution Plans, strategies, protocols, and processes at the project level, as well as developing and delivering key core documentation to ensure alignment with industry best practices.
The ideal candidate will bring substantial industry expertise and a strong track record in developing and assuring BIM documentation, including 3D models. A solid understanding of digital security in accordance with ISO 19650 standards is essential.
Key accountabilities:
Advanced understanding of BIM standards with the requirement to prepare and implement BIM Execution Plans, strategies, protocols, and processes at a project level, whilst developing and delivery of core documentation
Project Common Data Environment BIM assurance, liaise with and distribute project related information with all levels of the project team and external parties, facilitating collaborative work, time, and cost effectiveness of the chosen CDE system, along with model sharing between parties, ensuring setup of complex project models, including team briefings and inductions to complement workflows.
Assist the Project Team Members to establish Information Exchange processes, including the definition and agreement of procedures for convening, chairing, attendance and responsibility for recording “Information Exchange process meetings.
Attend and contribute to workshops and exercises with other suppliers to carry out value engineering, value management, environmental performance improvement initiatives and risk management.
Analyse assurance KPI’s via the Departments PACE system, feeding back findings/trends, providing suggested solutions to im-prove the BIM process and associated documentation.
High level of competency in using BIM software through daily interaction and formal training, including excellent Revit and Navisworks skills, with developer knowledge of Dynamo, or related Auto Desk functionality and capabilities.
Essential Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Experienced in the application of the UK BIM Framework as a minimum (including ISO19650 suite of documents, protocols and standards), development of required documents along with subsequent assurance of responses ensuring data requirements and agreed outcomes are met.
Extensive experience of developing and/or assessing 3D models and project associated data through all RIBA stages using industry recognised software
Experience of delivering COBie information, with demonstratable understanding of the possibilities and limitations of file formats
Desirable Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Relevant experience in a project delivery role.
Good supplier relationship, contract, and commercial management outcomes.
Proficient in MS Office applications Visio, PowerPoint, Project, Power BI.
Experience in building modelling activities (4D & 5D).
Capable of problem solving and process management (development & implementation).
High level of competency in BIM software through continued use and formal training, along with proven experience working with 3D environments.
Proven success with API’s and assistive automation/integration with Autodesk products.
Document control experience, along with document control process management.
