Job Overview
The Clinical Laboratory Scientist performs standard laboratory procedures within the assigned department/laboratory, analyzing data and assisting with research and development. This role requires following laboratory protocols and maintaining high quality levels.
Shifts:
* Tuesday-Saturday 9:00am-5:30pm
* Sunday-Thursday 6:00am-2:30pm
* Saturday-Tuesday 12:00pm-10:30pm
Main Responsibilities
* Performing high complexity laboratory tests, procedures, and analyses according to laboratory standards.
* Meeting productivity and turn-around time expectations.
* Maintaining high-quality test processes and results.
* Identifying problems, notifying supervisors, and describing circumstances or contributing factors.
* Achieving and maintaining competency on required high complexity laboratory tasks.
* Complying with personal protective equipment and safety requirements.
* Supporting and complying with the company's Quality Management System policies and procedures.
* Understanding laboratory equipment and reagents used within assigned departments.
* Using various types of laboratory equipment for extended periods.
* Receiving and completing basic training on laboratory software and programs.
* Maintaining a clean work area in accordance with laboratory practices and procedures.
* Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with clients and colleagues using interpersonal skills.
* Working in a team environment.

* Working standing for approximately 90% of a typical work day.
* Grasping with both hands, pinching with thumb and forefinger, turning with hand/arm, reaching above shoulder height.
* Making repetitious actions using lab tools.
* Viewing samples at close range using near vision.
* Being exposed to hazardous materials, tissue specimens, and instruments with moving parts, lasers, heating and freezing elements, and high-speed centrifugation.
* Participating in continuing education and staff meetings. Responsible for own professional development.
Requirements
* An associate degree in a laboratory science (chemical or biological science) or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution or equivalent laboratory training and experience.
* Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
* Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.
* Professional working knowledge of local, state, and federal laboratory regulations.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution.
* Experience in molecular testing.
* Strong grasp of molecular biology and genetics techniques and principles.
