Quality Manager - Door Manufacturer
Location: Doncaster / Scunthorpe
Salary: £35-40,000 negotiable, private cash/health plan
Type: Full-time, Permanent (Monday - Thursday 8 am - 4.30 pm, Friday 8 am - 3.30 pm; expected to assist some early and later hours from time to time)
We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to provide clear leadership for the development of an environment focused on Quality. This role is with a very established and reputable manufacturing firm specializing in commercial joinery projects.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain the Quality Management system, including ISO14001, ISO 9001, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Controls Plans, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), and Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) processes.
* Oversee compliance and embedding of quality processes across the business.
* Maintain relationships with customers and suppliers to maximize profit and potential, ensuring efficiency.
* Manage the audit programme and supplier development and improvement.
* Work proactively with all Directors, Managers, Supervisors, and Employees to maintain a programme of continual improvement.
* Lead a 'correct at source’ and problem-solving methodology (Lean).
* Guide the team to achieve quality targets for customers and business goals.
* Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice quality vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to improve operational performance.
* Implement all relevant procedures described in the Quality Management System and ensure compliance.
* Respond to customer complaints with containment actions, full analysis, and implement short-term and long-term countermeasures.
* Update quality documentation and communicate lessons learned from quality concerns in new customer contracts.
* Train others in all aspects of quality system and application procedures.
* Undertake internal and process audits of the Quality Management System.
* Ensure maintenance is carried out correctly and on time, ensuring cleanliness and safety.
* Lead regular inspection meetings with representatives from appropriate departments to establish action plans for improving build quality.
* Produce written reports and make presentations while ensuring Health and Safety practices are observed.
* Perform any other reasonable duties to assist the company in attaining its business objectives.
Requirements:
You will need to have experience working within a manufacturing environment and possess a positive and energetic attitude, with the ability to work independently. Experience in a joinery environment is an advantage.
