Guided by key members of our busy maintenance team youâll develop one of the most valuable and specialist skills in the timber manufacturing industry. \n\nYou will be on site to provide routine maintenance, service and repair to a range of sawmilling equipment. The work environment and collage placement days will enable you to gain the practical and interpersonal skills needed to develop your career in engineering.\n\nThe course will cover elements of, traditional hand finishing skills and the use of modern computer numerical control (CNC) processing technology, you will learn the importance of risk assessment and gain a full understanding of the tools and equipment needed in the practice of this unique and valuable role.\n You will hold at least 4 Standard grades/National 5's or equivalent. You will be self motivated with a positive and enthusiastic approach, and an eagerness to develop in a fast paced and growing business. In addition, you will have, excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. \n\nYou will be a collaborative team player with the ability to be well organised. You will enjoy problem solving and have a good eye for the finer details.\n\nWorking in a fast-paced manufacturing environment you will need to have an appreciation of quality and Health & Safety. \n\nYou will also need to be willing to undertake all relevant training required to fulfil the programme.
