Job Title:Hygiene Team Manager
Contract: Permanent, Full Time (Monday to Friday, 8am-4.30pm)
Location: Stockton
We are looking for a Hygiene Team Manager to join our Stockton site. Youll engage, inspire and develop your team to be passionate about delivering the highest standards of hygiene and adherence to food safety regulations and best practice. As a key member of our Bakery management team youll work closely with your peers to identify and implement improved processes.
Our Stockton bakery, based in the North East has recently seen an investment of over £18 million pounds in our manufacturing operations creating a new thin bagel line! So with state of the art machinery and a team of over 100 strong, were ensuring that our quality freshly baked products are the very best quality and ready for delivery across the UK!

Key Accountabilities and Measures Recruit, motivate and development of personnel who carry out hygiene activities to ensure they achieve the goals and targets agreed in their profiles and performance review meetings.
Coordinate hygiene activities with manufacturing, engineering, and hygiene teams to ensure resource for hygiene is planned and controlled to meet the requirements of the hygiene plan.
Challenge the validity of the plan and identify continuous improvement activities.
Manage the day-to-day contact of external hygiene related contractors and ensure the standard of work meet the agreed standards.
Work in conjunction with the sites Quality and Compliance teams to maintain company and statutory hygiene standards. Monitor cleaning activities and ensure conformance to standards through routine micro and environmental sampling and visual checks as stated in CICs (SOPs).
Collaborate with the Centre and site Quality, Compliance & Manufacturing teams to support the delivery of food safety & hygiene standards and adherence to standards across the bakery.
Coach and train food safety and hygiene policies, CICs (SOPs) and methods to Hygiene and non- hygiene bakery personnel to meet legal and company standards e.g. HACCP, BRC.
Manage and control usage of hygiene materials (e.g. cleaning chemicals and cleaning equipment) and PPE (e.g. bakery clothing and hairnets). Order replacements to always ensure availability.
Understand budget control and identify cost savings where appropriate.
Ensure safe working practises are in place in compliance to business SMS and EMS standards.
Demonstrate awareness and understanding of waste management practices to ensure efficient operations.
Essential Ingredients Auditor training
Minimum Level 3 HACCP & Food Safety qualifications
Knowledge of food microbiology
Awareness of quality systems and external standards.
Proficient in the use of SAP systems including ERP/PM and Microsoft Office packages.
Knowledge of HS&E and food safety legislation.
Knowledge of continuous improvement techniques
Ability to follow complex instructions and procedures with minimal supervision
Ability to capture and interpret complex data for decision making
Demonstrates attention for detail and a focus on quality
Strong communication skills and ability to build long-term relationships
Identifies and delivers operational improvements
