Year 1 Teacher – Ormskirk – January 2025 START
Are you a qualified and experienced KS1 Teacher who is looking to work within a large Primary School in Ormskirk?
Competitive rates of pay – potential permanent role.
The School:
This is a large Ormskirk Primary School serving a mixed catchment area. The school is easily commutable from surrounding areas such as Burscough, Aughton, and Skelmersdale. The Head teacher is committed to whole school improvement and is keen to secure a teacher with a strong academic background, preferably somebody who has experience working within an ‘inner city’ school due to the school’s mixed catchment area.
The school has a well-established senior leadership team and very few staffing changes. Behaviour in school is generally good; this is reflective of the robust behaviour management strategies consistently implemented across the school by all staff. The Head teacher encourages collaborative planning to reduce the teacher’s workload and develop best practice across Key Stage 1. The school follows Read Write Inc. Phonics; therefore, experience following this scheme would be advantageous but not essential!
The Role:
This position has arisen due to a recent resignation, and the school is keen to appoint a teacher who would be interested in a permanent role. The school is looking for a Teacher for Y1. The successful candidate will also be expected to undertake the full teaching role; planning, delivering, and assessing the children in line with the local framework and the National Curriculum.
Candidates must hold strong subject knowledge in all curriculum areas, especially in Maths, Reading, and Writing.
The Pay and Working Hours:
The rate of pay will reflect the role and the level of experience of the successful applicant. It is expected to fall within the bracket of £140-£195 per day, based on a 6.5-hour working day. This is a full-time role to start from January 2025, with the expectation that the role will continue until July 2025, with a view to extend into the 2025/26 academic year onto a school contract.
How to Apply:
To apply for this role, you must hold Qualified Teacher Status. You must also be experienced in KS1 and be prepared and committed to raising standards in the classroom. The school is keen to secure a teacher who will work collaboratively with the staff team and share the whole school community ethos.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQs on the Teaching Personnel website for details.
