Job overview
We are currently recruiting to our Portering service and we are looking for highly motivated Porters to work as part of a team and also independently.
Staff are expected to work to a high standard, Porters will be required to be patient-focused, and all candidates must be flexible to cover service needs.
Full training will be given to all successful candidates.
Main duties of the job
We are seeking to recruit a Facilities Management Assistant- Portering service to work within Secure Services.
Applications are invited from hard-working, self-motivated individuals who can work on their own initiative and as part of a team. We are looking to recruit a team member who has a flexible approach to their workload, can work to deadlines, and show high standards of quality in their work.
You must have excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and an understanding of health and safety in relation to safe working practices.
Previous experience of Portering within a secure setting would be advantageous.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Working within the High Secure Stores Department that includes the Central Stores, Patients Possessions, Linen bank, Food Stores as required. The post holder will be expected to contribute to the provision of a quality storage provision for High Secure Services, maintaining accurate records of the storage, receipt, and distribution of goods.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. To work as members of a team, carrying out tasks as allocated and prioritized.
2. To participate in training, including Mandatory training as required by Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust.
3. To adhere to and follow Trust and departmental procedures.
4. To assist the Manager in carrying out assigned tasks.
5. To work unsupervised and use your own initiative in line with service requirements.

Qualifications
* NHS experience and training in safety, health and catering or cleaning tasks.
Knowledge / Experience
* Experience of working in a similar role (cleaning or catering).
* Experience of working in the NHS.
* Experience of dealing with people.
* Knowledge of the National Standards of Cleanliness and NHS Colour Coding.
