We currently have an exciting opportunity to join us as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer within our Maintenance Team.
In a nutshell you will be responsible for:
As part of a small team, the Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer is responsible for carrying out proactive and reactive work within a fast-moving manufacturing environment; one of which is fully automated, adhering to health, safety and environmental legislation at all times.
Responsible for both preventative and reactive maintenance intervention, you will play a key role in optimising site performance through maximising asset availability and reducing down-time.
What you are already great at:
* Working as part of the Maintenance and wider Production team to carry out repairs to plant equipment and machinery.
* Attending breakdowns onsite across both facilities, ensuring a rapid response and that machine downtime is minimised.
* Conducting regular inspections and carrying out planned preventative maintenance on the full range of equipment across both sites; including automated machinery (pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors and robots), LEV’s, testing rigs, assembly lines and other equipment, in line with manufacturer’s recommendations.
* Troubleshooting of mechanical systems, resolving breakdowns via fault-finding analysis, and learning from these in order to support continuous improvement activity.
* Actively participating in the implementation and continuation of Total Performance Management (TPM), providing support and delivering actions to improve safety, quality and reliability.
* Participating in continuous improvement activities, contributing ideas and initiatives to enhance plant efficiency.
* Collaborating with the rest of the team, sharing knowledge and skills to cultivate a continuous learning culture.
* Managing contractors onsite, and working with more junior members of the team as required.
* Ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and promoting a culture of workplace safety throughout the organisation by following the relevant procedures and reporting any risks via the internal reporting process.
For this role we would need you to demonstrate:
Essential
* A relevant qualification in an electrical or mechanical engineering subject (NVQ, HNC), or to have completed an apprenticeship within maintenance engineering.
* Electrical or Mechanical engineering experience (ideally multi-skilled), and preferably from within a kiln or furnace environment.
* Knowledge or experience of working with controls, analysing faults and troubleshooting solutions.
* Experience of both reactive and preventative maintenance.
* Good technical ability relating to automation hardware and software.
* A high standard of workmanship.
* Strong organisation and communication skills, and the ability to act decisively to solve engineering and operational problems.
* The ability to work within a multi-disciplined team of varying levels of technical experience.
* Flexibility to cover shifts (6-2/2-10/10-6).
Desirable
* Level 3 Qualification in Inspection and Testing.
* Gas Safe Registration
* Qualification in Portable Appliance Testing.
* Experience of working on electrical installations in an industrial setting.
* PLC experience is advantageous.
