On behalf of The Department for Transport, we are looking for a Senior IT Service Manager (Inside IR35) for a 6 Month contract, hybrid based in Southampton 3 days per week.

Description:
To meet its obligation to provide internal IT services for its staff, the MAIB needs to maintain an independent accredited network. This network and its associated equipment and infrastructure needs independent management from the IT services provided by the DfT's central network.
The interim Security Cleared (SC) IT Manager will be responsible for the development and management of MAIB's IT equipment and its supporting infrastructure, including, but not limited to:
1. System administrator of the Branch's local network, MADNet and its associated peripherals:
* Network Administrator. Management of:
o Servers
o Switches
o Storage
o Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS)
o Printers
o Disaster recovery back-ups
o Video Conferencing equipment
o Internet provision and routers
o VPN services
* Cybersecurity Lead. Responsible for network security in-line with DfT and wider Government standards, including:
o Firewall management, configuration, and backups
o Management of security updates, anti-virus, and laptop encryption
o Management of email security monitoring service
o Maintaining accreditation and organising Pen-Testing
* First-Line IT Support. With support from four other staff members in the Technical Department, the post holder is the primary point of contact for first-line IT support in Branch. It is key that the IT Manager provides timely assistance and technical expertise to address user inquiries, troubleshooting hardware and software issues as necessary.
* System Administrator for Microsoft applications and licensing. Responsible for Microsoft applications such as:
o Office 365
o Teams
o SharePoint
o Dynamics
o Azure
o Power-BI
* Branch Case Management System. Responsibility for the administration and access control, as well as support in the continued development of the Branches Case Management System 'COMPASS'. Built on Microsoft Dynamics and Azure platforms with integrated SharePoint storage and Power-Bi analytics.
* IT Procurement Lead. With support and contract management from the Head of Technical Support, the post holder is responsible for identifying and procuring IT related goods and services, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints, procurement policies, and contractual obligations.
