Who You Are You are an experienced professional with substantial experience working with individuals who have complex needs and possess up-to-date knowledge of moving and handling techniques. Ideally, you are an HCPC registered Occupational Therapist or possess equivalent skills and training in moving and handling. You are confident working on your own initiative, managing a busy workload, and building strong working relationships. You have excellent communication skills, can demonstrate credibility with professionals from partner agencies, and have a working knowledge of current legislation. Additionally, having experience in equipment provision, major adaptations, and strong IT skills would be advantageous. What the Job Involves This role supports St Helens Council's moving with dignity project, focusing on transitioning care packages from double-handed to single-handed care. You will conduct moving and handling assessments, prepare detailed risk assessment reports, and provide training for both formal and informal carers. Joining an existing team, you will engage with the two-year project, requiring you to assess needs, prepare and implement care plans accurately. This fixed-term position allows you to employ your expertise in reducing the need for double-handed care intervention while enhancing clients' dignity and independence.
