Porsche Cars GB (PCGB) is the official importer and distributor of Porsche vehicles in the United Kingdom. It is responsible for overseeing the sales, marketing, and service of Porsche cars in the UK, as well as managing a network of authorised Porsche Centres across the country.
With the above in mind, we have a fantastic opportunity for a Technical Support Manager to join the team. The role involves supporting the delivery of a unique and exceptional ownership experience for Porsche customers while enhancing the commercial performance of UK and Ireland Porsche Centres. It also requires the development and high-level delivery of technical support and guidance for Porsche Centres and Recommended Body Repairers. Additionally, the role includes leading the provision of quality-related feedback to and from Porsche AG regarding core technical and connected vehicle products, ensuring optimal use of resources such as systems, tooling, equipment, and vehicle fleet to validate and publish materials that assist Technicians.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the team in resolving technical problems and creating market-specific documentation.
* Communicate technical information clearly and timely; contribute to Service Qualification training courses to share learnings network-wide.
* Stay informed about current Centre challenges and identify new focus areas to support technical developments, managing the testing and support of diagnostic equipment and infrastructure.
* Develop methods to manage complex issues involving vehicles and connected services, ensuring consistency and efficiency.
* Test new vehicles and products to improve knowledge and understanding and provide insight to ensure compliance with UK legislation and necessary approvals are in place.
* Ensure workshops are equipped with modern repair methods and processes to maximise benefits for the Centre network.
* Monitor training needs across the network and identify knowledge gaps to improve technical skills through input into training courses.
* Support the wider team and assist the Manager, Service Quality through delivery of project work, reporting, and team management and ensuring alignment with other business functions particularly within Ownership on relevant topics.
* Provide initial escalation for customer conversations and with Porsche AG (PAG) to better enable an understanding of customer and quality topics and devise market tailored solutions.
* Develop, review and provide insight on areas of responsibility through management reporting, analysis and interpretation and oversee creation of materials for publishing to network and within Porsche to best communicate relevant topics.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Previous experience managing a technical team within the Automotive Industry.
* Proficient understanding of automotive technologies, high voltage systems, and connected-car functionality.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and customer-focused approach.
* Exceptional interpersonal skills with the capacity to communicate and influence at every level.
* Strong analytical and people management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Degree in automotive and/or engineering field, or comparable work experience.
* Practical experience in the repair of high voltage vehicle batteries.
