Job Description Nursery Third in Charge Salary: £32,000 Our client, a well-established and welcoming nursery, is seeking a passionate and experienced Third in Charge to join their leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity for an early years professional to take on a key role in supporting the nursery’s daily operations, ensuring high standards of care and education, and fostering a positive, inclusive environment for children, families, and staff. As a Third in Charge, you successful will support the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager, ensuring the smooth running of the nursery. You will lead by example, inspiring staff, maintaining high-quality teaching and care, and building strong relationships with children and families. What We’re Looking For Level 3 Early Years Qualification (or equivalent) – essential. A strong understanding of the EYFS framework and early childhood development. Leadership experience within an early years setting, with the ability to support and motivate a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering a positive nursery culture. A proactive, solution-focused approach to maintaining high standards. Supervise and mentor staff, ensuring a positive and effective team environment. Assist with staff training and development, identifying individual training needs. Oversee keycarer procedures, ensuring children receive tailored support. Help coordinate planning meetings, ensuring engaging learning experiences. Build and maintain relationships with parents and carers, offering professional feedback. Step in for senior management when required, ensuring seamless nursery operations.
