Teaching Personnel are currently seeking to recruit a reliable and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to work in a Primary School in the centre of Cardiff. The position will be full-time, working in a nursery/reception class starting in January 2025. The ideal candidate will be confident working with children with varied needs and abilities, to ensure each child has the same opportunity to develop. General classroom support will be required, along with supporting small groups of children to assist with learning that follows the school's curriculum. There may be instances working 1:1 with children who also require additional support throughout the day.
Main duties required:
- Providing general classroom assistance for the teacher and children.
- Supporting children with their literacy and numeracy needs.
- Being confident completing intervention work with small groups, or on an individual basis.
- Ability to identify individual needs of children and provide extra support if required.
About the school:
The school is based in the centre of Cardiff and are looking for an energetic and hardworking Teaching Assistant to join their friendly team. They are open to new ideas and techniques and require a teaching assistant who can contribute a positive attitude to the class. Due to the diverse nature of the school, there may be pupils with English as an Additional Language (EAL) or instances dealing with challenging behaviour.
What you will need:
- Enhanced DBS (Child Only) checks must be completed before the role will commence - (Teaching Personnel can help you with this!)
- EWC registration required which is mandatory requirement in Wales.
- Experience personally or in a working environment with children (desirable).
