Your Role: As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be at the heart of ensuring that students with special educational needs receive the tailored support they need to excel. You will work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create an inclusive and supportive atmosphere for all learners. Key Responsibilities of SEN Teaching Assistant (TA): Offer personalised support to students with SEN, helping them participate in classroom activities and stay on task. Adapt resources and learning materials to cater to individual learning needs. Encourage students to develop their confidence, independence, and social skills. Monitor progress and provide feedback to the teaching team, contributing to the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs). Promote positive behaviour and assist in managing classroom routines effectively. Support students during transitions, breaks, and extracurricular activities. The ideal candidate will have: Previous experience in a similar role or working with children with SEN (preferred but not essential). A good understanding of conditions such as autism, ADHD, and other learning needs. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and families. A proactive mindset, ready to adapt and respond to students' individual requirements. Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant certificate, are advantageous.
