Job summary Progress chaser Band 312 hours per week Band 3 HCA 24 hours per week An opportunity has arisen for a Progress Chaser/ HCA working within a busy 56 bedded Acute Medical Unit (AMU). This is an exciting opportunity for someone with great customer service and organisational skills, to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment that receives high volumes of patient admissions. Main duties of the job The role consists of facilitating the flow of patients throughout the unit, aiding safe effective discharges, transfers and assisting the nursing staff. Liaising with the Multidisciplinary team (MDT) is vital within the role and effective communication with the discharge team, Doctors, AMU coordinator and relatives is essential. The post holder will be expected to attend ward meetings with the MDT throughout the shift to ensure that relevant information is given to all members of the MDT and current handover of the patients within the unit is given.
