What you will do in your working day
Day to day role responsibilities and duties will include:
* Produce Electrical Panels by assembling parts and subassemblies.
* Read and design panel wiring diagrams.
* Position or align components and parts.
* Use hand tools to assemble parts.
* Conduct quality control checks.
* Clean and maintain work area and equipment, including tools.
* Prepare work to be accomplished by studying parts lists and gathering parts, subassemblies.
* Position parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
* Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and subassemblies.
* Verify specifications by measuring completed component
* Resolve assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources.
* Keep equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs.
* Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
* Maintain inventory by checking stock to determine supply levels.
* Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
* Document actions by completing Time Sheets
The training you will be getting
* The Apprentice will be working towards the Level 3 Engineering Technician Apprenticeship Standard (Product Design & Development Pathway)
* Qualifications include: Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence)
Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Competence)
* The apprentice will be working towards a Level 3 Diploma or Extended Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge) - Product Design & Development Pathway
* College attendance will be at Colchester Institute Campus and online
