Job summary
Laindon Medical Group is looking to appoint an experienced practice manager to lead our organisation on a full-time basis, for hours per week over 5 days.
Main duties of the job
1. The overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of the surgery.
2. Leading the primary care services, to ensure that the practice meets regulatory and contractual standards whilst remaining financially viable.
3. Providing solid leadership, based on a sound knowledge of business management, finance, planning and human resource management, including recruitment.
4. Driving modernisation.
5. Meeting the reporting requirements of the partnership and complying with local and national KPIs and contracts.
6. Co-ordinating and leading the operational delivery of the services in the practice, engaging with staff, patients and local commissioners.
7. Presenting and analysing data, to monitor quality.
8. Attending local meetings, to represent the surgery, and reporting to partners.
9. Effectively managing all staff.

11. Taking responsibility for security, repairs, insurance and maintenance of the premises, services and equipment;
12. Ensuring that the practice complies with all aspects of Health & Safety at Work legislation.

Experience
Essential
15. Detailed and up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation, as well as experience in managing a diverse workforce.
16. Strong skills and experience in HR, premises management, IT and complaint handling.
17. Prior experience of leadership and personnel management, ideally within a healthcare setting;
18. Experience in financial management.
19. Ability to deliver a vision, with a willingness and the drive to adapt to NHS targets and business planning, whilst keeping abreast of legislative and contractual changes.
20. Self-motivated, with a forward-thinking, solution-focused approach.
21. The ability to develop, implement and embed policies, procedures and guidelines.
22. Experience of working in an ever-evolving environment, with an ability to cope with regular change.
23. Excellent organisational, management and planning skills, IT skills and communication skills.

25. Ability to identify training and development needs in self and other as well as experience of appraising staff.
