Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Lead Occupational Health Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing patient care, leading staff, and ensuring the highest standards of clinical practice. This position requires a strong background in Occupational Health. The Clinical Lead Nurse will be responsible for fostering a collaborative environment that prioritises and promotes professional development among staff.
Responsibilities
1. Support annual appraisals of all direct staff (nurses, technicians and Health Surveillance Co-ordinator) during the first year, with appropriate Manager.
2. Check competencies every 2 years of all direct staff, record in booklets and arrange for any relevant in-house training.
3. Mentor clinical staff, if required.
4. Assessment and reporting of ‘Fitness to Work’, as a result of medical screening.
5. Carry out HAVS assessments.
6. Cover nurses’/technicians contract customers in the event of an emergency.
7. Be involved with complaints pertaining to a clinical nature.
8. Oversee health surveillance programmes and work closely with the co-ordinator.
9. Promote the health and wellbeing of customer employees; including advice about healthy lifestyle choices, smoking cessation programmes etc. Provide support with setting up and organising Wellbeing Days.
10. Introduce health initiatives, such as blood pressure checks, promotional health days.
11. Undertake medicals and health screening and management referrals.
12. Keep appropriate medical records.
13. Liaise with the Occupational Physicians, if appropriate.
14. Liaise with other disciplines e.g. physiotherapists, if appropriate.
15. Support customers in obtaining GP/specialist reports.
16. Collect, collaborate and analyse data to produce a statistical report, if required.
17. Participate in audit of the services, if required.
18. Provide weekly feedback to the Management Team of any issues (highs and lows) unless urgent.
19. Proactively identify future potential problems within the workforce.
20. Work to policies and procedures and offer support to meet standards.
21. Adhere to quality documentation/policies ensuring compliance with legislation, governance and good practice alongside Specialist Practitioner.
22. Support staff with clinical concerns.
23. Be responsible for occupational activities in the office, empowering other members of staff to perform safely, professionally and to the standard expected by the clinical team.
24. Work alongside Prohms’ staff to manage the van and screening work by having weekly meetings and providing a weekly meeting report.
25. Support new business.
26. Work with companies pre and post screening and upsell where possible (must be based on company risk assessment and needs).
27. Contribute and attend clinical governance meetings.
28. Recognise any weak areas in the business and report back to senior colleagues.
29. Audit clinical reports.
30. Check customers are happy with health surveillance reports.
31. Alongside the above job role your responsibilities will be:
32. Ensure the fit for work, spreadsheet and summary letter is left with the customer on the day of service, if it is a nurse led service otherwise to return within 24-48 hours.
33. Ensure health surveillance is completed according to company protocol.
34. Oversee the company technicians are completing and documenting their weekly van checks. Ensure any issues are reported according to protocol.
35. Report back weekly (Friday) on activities, actions and updates of health initiatives and follow up all lines of enquiries and ensure customers are aware of the services the company provides.
36. Ensure all medicals completed by technicians are completed according to company protocol.
37. Accurately record all information given by a patient.
38. Ensure protocol is followed in obtaining GP/Specialised reports until closed.
39. Escalate urgent issues to senior management.
40. Support the updating of the policies and suggest appropriate changes.
41. Provide clinical support to nurses, doctors and administration staff as required.
42. Ensure weekly contact by telephone to the van/health screening employees and email outcome to senior manager.
43. Implement performance improvement plans.
44. Maintain a positive attitude.
45. Flexible post but must cover business needs.
46. Assist Health Surveillance Co-Ordinator in gaining SEQUOHS accreditation.
Requirements
1. Registered Nurse with a valid nursing licence.
2. Proven experience in a clinical setting, preferably in a leadership role.
3. Strong knowledge of Occupational Health.
4. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
5. Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
6. Compassionate approach towards patient care with strong interpersonal skills.
7. Commitment to ongoing professional development and training.

Pay: £32,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
