PLEASE NOTE: this role will receive a 2.9% salary increase with effect from 1st April 2025 in line with our annual pay award. We have an exciting opportunity to become the Domestic Abuse Co-ordinator for Tonbridge & Malling and Tunbridge Wells Councils. This role is offered on a 12 month fixed term contract due to the way in which the post is funded. This is a joint post between Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council and Tunbridge Wells Borough Council. You willl spend your time equally based between the two councils. With previous experience in a similar role, you will have proven knowledge and expertise in the area of domestic abuse. The successful postholder will become the strategic lead on domestic abuse for both councils and will enable both Councils to fulfil their duties under the new Domestic Abuse Act 2021. The role will include reviewing the relevant domestic abuse policies and procedures, attending meetings (such as the Local Partnership Board), liaising with commissioned services, and working to develop specialist services. You’ll be based with the Community Safety teams but will need liaise with other internal departments, as well as external domestic abuse organisations and other relevant agencies. You will be highly be self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision and possess excellent communication skills. You will be required to work at Kings Hill (West Malling) and Tunbridge Wells, there will also be an opportunity for some home working.
