Employment status: employed Hours per week: Bank hours available to cover when other workers are on annual leave, are sick or when extra cover is required. Usual working shifts are Mondays 9-12.30 12.30-4, Tuesdays 9.30-1 or 1-4, Wednesdays 9.30-12.30. 12.30-4, Thursdays 9.30-12.30. 1-4.30, Fridays. 9.30-12.30. 1-4.30, Saturdays 10.30-1.30, Sundays 10.30-1.30pm
Hourly pay rate: The hourly rate of pay is £18 ph, £27 B/hols.
PA required to support a female with physical and mental health disabilities. PA will support individual to live independently and pro-actively, to maintain overall well-being as part of a team of support workers. Due to medical appointments shift times may be subject to change so a degree of flexibility is desirable with notice. PA required to support a female with physical and mental health disabilities. Duties will include general household chores, cleaning, cooking, laundry, help with aids and adaptations, a little gardening, dog walking, shopping, paperwork due to dyslexia, help with college courses, form filling, assistance to get to medical appointments, advocacy during meetings, dealing with medical emergencies such as seizures, Dissociative episodes, etc. Attendance at meetings, physio, participation at dog training classes, liaising with care team, attending care team meetings, accurate record keeping, account keeping, participation with physio and hydrotherapy etc. Liaision with ITU team and being part of critical care support plan, and support meetings, PA's also have an opportunity to support the individual when on short respite breaks away from home. All training is provided. Applicant must be reliable, be flexible, have a good sense of humour, be able to maintain confidentiality, be sensitive to the needs of the client, be trustworthy, honest, be a good time keeper, use their initiative, be able to work as part of a team and be able to work on their own when need be. I have an assistance dog who requires all PA’s maintain her standards, attend her training held mainly at weekends, as a requirement of her registered assistance dog programme needed to retain her assistance dog status and to provide my dog with the consistency she needs. Therefore, you must have no allergy to dogs (or cats, as I have two), must have a car that you can use for work purposes and be willing to transport my dog to training sessions/walks/work purposes. All expenses (mileage etc) will be covered. As part of the job the successful applicant may subject to funding undertake a level 3 Health and Social Care Diploma as part of their employment.
