The Facilities department at Dorset County Hospital are excited to announce that we are looking for Security Officers to join our brand new team providing a 24/7 Security Service throughout the hospital.
A background in Security is desirable but not essential as full training in security within a health care setting will be given.
• Provide a security presence throughout all areas of the hospital in order to deliver a polite, efficient, and compassionate service to patients, visitors and staff at all times.
• Provide a first line quick and immediate response to distressed, violent and aggressive persons (including mental health patients) within the hospital, calming individuals using verbal and non verbal communication skills, where necessary physically restraining and escorting persons from site in order to maintain a safe environment within the hospital.
• Appropriately operate CCTV in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Trust license for the detection and prevention of crime, where required.
• To undertake checks on every shift to ensure that all CCTV equipment is fully operational and that any faults are reported immediately to the Facilities department by email or phone.
• Undertake physical patrols of the hospital site in line with schedule and in order to provide a security presence and maintain a secure environment including checking closure departments.
• Undertake external patrols to all areas of the Hospital site including car parking areas and outlying buildings ensuring that your presence is noticeable.
