We are seeking a skilled Associate Structural Engineer to join our Building Design team in Nottingham. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural engineering and a passion for creating innovative and sustainable building designs. As a Structural Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and construction of various building projects, ensuring their structural integrity and safety. You will be an important part of the managerial team, where you will be involved in important decisions and leading the team.
Responsibilities:
* Ability to mentor and support other engineers and technicians.
* Ability to independently and proactively undertake a client-facing role and lead coordination with other design team members.
* Ability to complete own calculations, reports and markup details for technicians using a range of software and by hand. We utilize Tekla Structural Designer, Tedds, Excel, Revit, CAD and Robot.
* Ability to manage and check other team members' work.
* Ability to contribute to team resource planning, wider business management and planning, working alongside the Directors.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential.
* Experience working on a range of structural projects with values ranging from £100k to £50m plus.
* Experience designing to Eurocodes, NHBC and British Standards.
* Experience designing in all major structural materials including steel, concrete, timber and masonry.
* Strong knowledge of construction detailing and ability to provide detailed markups for technicians and oversee drawing production.
* Line management of junior members of the team.
* Contribute to business development and profile raising.
Candidate Profile:
* Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Master's degree is a plus.
* Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
* Proven experience in structural design and analysis for building projects.
* Proficiency in structural engineering software such as ETABS, SAP2000, or STAAD.Pro.
* Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
* Passion for sustainability and innovative building design.
Salary: £60,000 to £65,000 Per Annum Sector: Civil & Structural Engineering Contract Type: Permanent Town/City: London
