SSEN are currently looking for Linesperson Trainees, upskilling to a fully qualified Linesperson to join our Southern Electric Power Distribution team. This is an opportunity to develop an exciting career and further authorisations within SSEN.
The role will include:
1. Undertaking work on our overhead electricity network, responding to faults, repairing and/or replacing as required.

Linesperson Programme:
The programme can take 18 to 24 months depending on your personal capabilities and is centred on an initial course at our training school followed by buddying with an experienced Lines team where you will build a portfolio of work which will allow you to gain authorisations to work on the network.
By the end of the programme, you'll have gained valuable on-the-job experience, learned new skills and gained an industry-recognised qualification, enabling you to have the opportunity to build a rewarding and successful career in the energy sector.
This role can be demanding, and you'll be required to respond quickly to emergency situations; we want to provide the best possible service to our customers in their time of need. This will involve working outdoors in all weather conditions with a requirement to undertake out of hours standby duties and short notice attendance for storm situations.
