We are recruiting for a Lead Student Achievement Officer who will lead the design, delivery and evaluation of projects to promote student achievement, with a focus on improving student retention, completion, degree attainment and graduate outcomes within our recently formed Student Achievement Service.
This is an exciting new role within the team, providing an opportunity to make a real difference and help deliver our targets in our institutional Student Opportunity and Success Strategy and Access and Participation Plan (APP). The post holder will work closely with key stakeholders across the University and Students’ Union; including student support teams, academic colleagues, and our students, to understand existing student achievement provision and implement improvements and inform the development of additional support that contributes to the APP targets. You will work closely with the Head of Student Achievement and the wider Student Achievement Services teams.
The successful candidate will have a good honours degree or equivalent experiential learning. You will have knowledge of barriers faced by different groups of students, particularly those who are under-represented in higher education including mature students and black students. You will have experience of successfully leading multiple projects simultaneously, working with a diverse range of stakeholders across all levels of a university plus experience of delivering Student Mentoring Programmes within a large education provider. You will have experience of line management and be a natural communicator, keen to work with a wide range of stakeholders.
