We are looking to recruit a Project Manager, based out of ourWhitehaven office, to be part of the team successfully delivering a variety of exciting projects across a range of different sectors. The Project Manager will be accountable for the delivery of the portfolio of projects assigned to them, including financial performance, benefits realisation, and customer satisfaction. The Project Manager will report to the Actemium Design UK Sector Manager with overall responsibility for the market segments in which the project relates.

Responsibilities:
* Promoting the public wider good in all actions, acting in a morally, legally, and socially appropriate manner in dealings with stakeholders and members of Actemium Design UK teams and the organisation.
* Determining the best means of satisfying requirements within the context of project objectives and constraints to develop workable solutions.
* Preparing and maintaining schedules of activities and events, taking account of dependencies and resource requirements.
* Identifying and monitoring project risks (threats and opportunities), planning and implementing responses to them and responding to other issues that affect their projects.
* Developing, maintaining, and applying quality management processes for project activities and outputs.
* Ensuring appropriate contracts are in place and aligned with Actemium Design UK governance.
* Ensuring appropriate change control mechanisms are in place aligned to Actemium Design UK governance.
* Establishing and maintaining governance arrangements for the delivery of projects, defining clear roles, responsibilities, and accountabilities, that align with organisational procedures & practice.
* Managing stakeholders, taking account of their levels of influence and interests.
* Empowering and inspiring others to deliver.
Essential criteria:
* A minimum of an HNC/HND qualification in project / business / commercial management or in an engineering / technical subject.
* Several years’ experience in a project management role.
* Full membership of the Association for Project Management (APM).
* APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ) or equivalent.
* Proven record of accomplishment of project or portfolio delivery with a value circa £2m per annum.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Good commercial acumen and contract negotiation skills.
* Demonstrate financial awareness and ability to manage budgets and forecast resources.
* Controlled management of scope change and project variations.
The ideal candidate will:
* Be familiar with the implementation of the NEC suite of contracts.
Capable of using CEMAR or similar contract management platform.
* Be able to use MS Project and / or Primavera P6 as a project scheduling tool.
* Take the initiative and work collaboratively with others to find innovative solutions.
* Have knowledge of the legal and commercial requirements of operating as part of a Joint Venture (JV) or consortia of partner companies.
* Be highly organised and take a structured and methodical approach in analysing data and decision making.
* Have delivered projects through the various stages of a design lifecycle.
* Be confident in a customer facing role and build positive relationships.
* Be able to communicate the project requirements and ensure benefits realisation.
* Have experience of preparing bids and tenders for new opportunities.
