About the job
As a Property Pathway and Sustainability Officer, you will play a pivotal role in securing suitable residential accommodations, addressing barriers to housing, and ensuring the longevity of housing solutions.
Some key responsibilities of a Property Pathway and Sustainability Officer will include:
1. Lead the support to families in finding suitable housing, collaborating with the assigned caseworker, especially on complex cases.
2. Attend property viewings and liaise with letting agents and landlords
3. Understanding of property compliance to ensure that properties are adhering to health and safety regulations and are accommodation ready.
4. Conduct affordability assessments, monitor housing options, and perform subsistence assessments for families according to government guidelines.
5. Work in partnership with District and Borough councils to explore housing options and help families maximise income through budgeting, employment, benefits, and debt management.
6. Identify homelessness prevention opportunities and tackle resettlement barriers with innovative, solution-oriented interventions.
7. Maintain, analyse, and interpret sensitive data from housing departments, legal representatives, or the Home Office to ensure accurate records, prioritise needs, and formulate effective plans, updating the Property Project Manager as necessary.

8. Experience of working within the housing sector or degree level education in property management or similar discipline.
9. A Full and Valid UK Driving Licence.
10. Good working knowledge of housing legislation, welfare benefit systems, financial inclusion, and effective debt management.
11. Experience of working with vulnerable families in the capacity of preventing the need for temporary accommodation.
12. Experience of working within government legislation.
13. Understanding of safeguarding or managing risk within a caseload.
