The annual salary for this role is £23,412.00 per year plus biennial increments. Additional enhancements include weekends paid at a 25% premium on the hourly rate and sleep-in payments of £96.00 per sleep.
Role Responsibilities
* As a Children's Residential Support Worker, you will provide a caring, safe, secure, and accepting environment that meets the physical, health, social needs, and rights of the young people.
* Maximise educational opportunities and achievements for the young people by assisting in identifying, establishing, and supporting educational provision and contributing to educational reviews.
* Undertake direct work designed to meet the young person's needs as identified within the care plan, enabling them to reach their full potential while supporting their significant relationships.
* Under close supervision, take responsibility for key working at least one young person.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of the work undertaken with the young people and complete written reports for planning meetings and statutory reviews as necessary.
* Support young people with their individual personal care needs, including assisting with changing continence pads, full body and hair washes, dressing, and encouraging independence in washing and dressing to progress their skills development.
* Undertake a range of domestic duties, including cooking and cleaning, to ensure compliance with health and safety policies and guidelines for young people and staff.
* Experience of working in a residential setting, undertaking the full range of duties in a well-planned way that respects and values the young people as individuals.
* Flexibility to respond to the needs of the unit and young people.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to write reports.
* Good organisational and time management skills.
* Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team, taking the lead when required while maintaining and encouraging open and honest communication.
* If you don't have direct experience of working with children, you may have transferrable skills to bring to the role.
