We are headquartered in Hong Kong with operations and representation in Australia, Finland, Ireland, Italy, Turkey, Spain, Netherlands & UK. We operate a factory based in Cambridgeshire UK and seek a Production Manager to support us in our next phase of growth.
The Role: What You’ll Be Doing
As a Production Manager at our UK recycling plant, you will play a pivotal role in our operations. Your responsibilities will include:
* Overseeing Operations: Manage all aspects of daily operations, including the flow of goods in and out, with an average of 150 trailer and container movements per month.
* Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality control of all materials handled, guaranteeing that finished products meet our customers' expectations.
* Team Leadership: Lead a team of four direct reports, setting clear goals, providing support, and conducting regular performance reviews.
* Health & Safety: Champion safety initiatives to maintain our ISO9001, 14001, and 45001 certifications, ensuring a safe working environment for all.
* Lean Manufacturing: Apply lean manufacturing principles to optimize our processes, reduce waste, and improve efficiency.
* Continuous Improvement: Drive a culture of continuous improvement, seeking innovative ways to enhance our production processes and team performance.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
We’re looking for someone who is not just experienced, but also passionate about recycling and sustainability. The ideal candidate will have:
* Experience in the Plastics Industry: A strong background in plastics recycling is essential.
* Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and inspire a team to achieve high performance.
* Operational Expertise: Hands-on experience in managing production in a fast-paced environment.
* Safety Focus: A solid understanding of health and safety regulations, ideally with IOSH or other relevant certifications.
* Strong Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with team members, suppliers, and customers.
* Problem-Solving Ability: Skilled in using logic and reasoning to identify and solve problems efficiently.
