Due to our continued growth in the Data Centre and Mission-Critical sector, a fantastic career opportunity has arisen for a creative and driven Associate Mechanical Engineer to join a leading MEP Consultancy. You will be responsible for meeting with Clients, producing reports, specifications, and drawings, and delivering successful projects from inception to completion.
As an Associate Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting and delivering designs for the Data Centre and Mission Critical sector. You will work within a multidisciplinary team of engineers and support staff, delivering a consistently high-quality service for clients, ensuring that repeat and new business opportunities are developed, and profitability is achieved.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* You will be working primarily on the Data Centre and Mission Critical sector.
* You will be in a Client facing role, attending project meetings and disseminating the brief within the project team.
* You will lead the team in developing the initial strategic concepts for projects ensuring solutions are appropriate for the brief and regulatory standards.
* You will manage and prioritise the workload of a project team including specialist groups.
* You will take responsibility for solid technical delivery in your work either alone or as part of a team.
* You will host and chair internal project team meetings.
* You will contribute to the professional development of individual team members and identify opportunities.
* You will engage with junior support staff in their day-to-day activities and offer advice and guidance.
* You will be financially astute and work with the team leader to help monitor fee expenditure, resource and work delivered.
* You will look at new ways of working and take time out for innovation and research.
* You will create and maintain a high reputation within the industry.
* You will report cost and resource requirements to the team leader on a regular basis.
About You:
You should have relevant experience in Mechanical Engineering and equivalent qualifications. Ideally, you should have an industry-recognised membership such as CIBSE/IMECHE/ASHRAE/Uptime Institute. You should have excellent technical knowledge in your primary discipline and a thorough understanding of Building Services Engineering.
