Job Description:
As a Buyer for our client, you will be responsible for procuring materials, products, and services essential for residential projects. This role involves sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of quality materials to maintain project schedules and budgets.
This role is essential in ensuring that residential construction projects are supplied with the necessary materials and services, contributing to the successful and timely completion of housing developments.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supplier Management: Identify and establish relationships with reliable suppliers and subcontractors.
* Procurement: Source and purchase materials, equipment, and services required for construction projects.
* Negotiation: Negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules to secure favourable deals.
* Inventory Control: Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure materials are available when needed.
* Budget Management: Assist in preparing and managing budgets for materials and supplies.
* Quality Assurance: Ensure that all purchased materials meet the required quality standards and project specifications.
* Documentation: Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier communications.
Qualifications:
* Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, or a related field is typically required.
* Experience: Previous experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably within the construction or housing industry.
Skills:
Analytical Skills: Ability to assess market trends and make informed purchasing decisions.
Negotiation Skills: Proven ability to negotiate favorable terms with suppliers.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
