Desktop Support Specialist - Financial Services - London - Up to £35,000

They are seeking a motivated and skilled Desktop Support Specialist to join their dynamic IT team. As a Desktop Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in providing technical assistance and support to internal users on a 1st and 2nd line basis. You will work closely with a small team of IT professionals to ensure the smooth operation of desktop systems and related technologies within our organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide first and second line technical support to internal users, resolving issues related to desktop hardware, software, and peripherals.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Azure, Azure AD, and Office 365 applications.
- Assist with basic networking issues including connectivity, DNS, and DHCP.
- Support market data systems and applications used by traders and analysts.
- Install, configure, and maintain desktop operating systems and software applications.
- Perform hardware and software upgrades as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of technical issues and resolutions using ticketing systems.
- Collaborate with other IT team members to escalate and resolve complex technical issues.
- Assist with IT projects and initiatives as assigned.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a desktop support role, preferably within the financial services industry.
- Strong technical skills in Azure, Azure AD, and Office 365 administration.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
- Experience supporting market data systems and applications is highly desirable.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with users at all levels of the organisation.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate or CompTIA A+ are a plus.
